08 Nov MARCOM Awards: Katherine McCarthy, of the American Heart Association- Albany Receives the Marketing Practitioner Award 2018
The committee of the Capital Region Marcom Awards are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2018 Capital Region Marketing Practitioner Award: Katherine McCarthy, of the American Heart Association- Albany.
Kathy is the Senior Regional Director, Communications, for the Association. The committee were impressed by her commitment to the Capital Region and her tireless desire to bring the American Heart Association's message of heart and brain health to our community.
She says of her commitment that, "all of us at the American Heart Association work tirelessly so that we are a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives."
Kathy also works with the government relations directors for New York State and Vermont, promoting the Association's legislative agendas in those two states. In New York, successes have included an increased tobacco tax, the Pulse Ox Law, the CPR in Schools Law, funding for the Empire State Trail, and the prevention of cuts to budgets affecting public health programs. In Vermont, campaigns have brought attention to the CPR in Schools campaign, which became law.
