What is agile marketing?

To some it is a buzzword, but a growing number of big-name brands, from Spotify, Netflix, Amazon, and GE, have shown how agile has the potential to revolutionize marketing and the management of organizations across the globe.

The Harvard Business Review has claimed that,” by taking people out of their functional silos and putting them in self-managed and customer-focused multidisciplinary teams, the agile approach is not only accelerating profitable growth but also helping to create a new generation of skilled general managers.” With its origins in the software industry, agile principles are now taking other areas of business by storm and in the vanguard of this management revolution is marketing.

Agile is all about innovation. It is about encouraging the mindset and developing the tools and techniques that enable the marketing team to have the agility and innovation of a small startup. In a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, agile helps deliver innovation in a consistent way and one that gives the organization a competitive edge.
