User experience (UX) is undergoing a revolution! Russ Klein, the CEO of the American Marketing Association, has described ‘experience’ as one of the most important factors in creating competitive advantage in today’s world.

From this insightful presentation, you will find out how a traditional marketing and communications company evolved into an experience design firm and why it made that change. You will also learn about the key elements of an effective Human Experience Design strategy and the common core processes of: discover, design, develop and deliver. You will also find out about the methods and tools of effective UX—things like journey maps, personas, storyboards, scenarios, user cases, prototyping, card sorting, wireframes, and design language systems. Robert will show how those tools and methods were used in some real-world projects and discuss different ways to improve experience across several contexts.

About the Speaker
Robert Johnston is the Creative Director and UX Design Lead at the Creative Advantage. He has 20+ years in the fields of marketing/communications and user experience design. Robert leads a team of information architects, researchers, interaction and visual designers, business analysts, videographers, and communication specialists to create rich experiences for customers and users. He is also a co-inventor of three design patents for power plants and locomotive operations and has earned multiple marketing communication awards.
